SUSTAINABILITY & REGENERATIVE TOURISM
Our Commitment to Sustainable & Regenerative Tourism
At ExperienceKart, we believe that every journey through Aotearoa should uplift the land, its people, and its future. We’re not just here to guide visitors, we are kaitiaki (guardians) of the places we travel through, and we carry that responsibility with pride.
Our approach blends the principles of sustainable tourism reducing impact, supporting local, and operating responsibly with a deeper goal: regenerative tourism. This means actively restoring and enhancing the environments and communities we touch, leaving a positive legacy for future generations.
We honour the spirit of the Tiaki Promise and the values of manaakitanga (hospitality), whanaungatanga (connection), and respect for te taiao (the natural world). From eco-aware travel practices to sponsoring native bush regeneration, we’re committed to doing travel differently with care, integrity, and purpose. Join us in travelling with intention, in a way that gives back more than it takes.

Private Vehicle Travel
Every journey with ExperienceKart is either privately guided or in an intimate small group — never rushed, never crowded. We tailor each experience to suit your pace, preferences, and travel style, so you always feel in control of your journey.
Support Local Communities
We partner with locally owned cafés, shops, and suppliers to ensure every tour contributes directly to the people and places we visit. We also support local community initiatives and environmental projects that align with our values of care and connection.

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
We minimise single-use plastics, reuse wherever possible, and separate waste in our office and on the road. Guests are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles and be part of our effort.
Educating & Empowering Our Guests
Our driver-guides share stories of Aotearoa’s natural beauty, native wildlife, and cultural heritage helping guests understand how to travel respectfully. We encourage conscious choices, from protecting nature to embracing the Tiaki Promise.

Protecting Natural Environments
We respect national parks, native forests, and culturally sensitive areas, guiding our guests to always stay on marked paths and avoiding harm to our native wildlife. This mindful approach helps protect our fragile ecosystems.
Our tours operate under official concessions with Auckland Council and the Department of Conservation (DoC), with paid fees directly supporting conservation efforts.
Respect for Nature & Culture (Tiaki Promise)
We proudly support the Tiaki Promise caring for New Zealand by protecting the environment, respecting Māori values, and travelling thoughtfully. It's a commitment we carry through every experience we offer.

Supporting Community-Led Regeneration
We’re proud to sponsor the Kaipātiki Project; a community EcoHub in Auckland focused on native bush regeneration, ecological education, and zero-waste living. Their mahi restores te taiao (the natural world), empowers future kaitiaki, and fosters a deeper connection between people and place.
Our sponsorship helps support their work in rewilding urban spaces, restoring biodiversity, and controlling invasive species — all while creating meaningful opportunities for community involvement.
It aligns closely with our values of giving back to the land we travel through. By partnering with Kaipātiki project, we’re actively investing in a greener, more resilient future for Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Our Guiding Philosophy
A journey is only as meaningful as the people who guide it. Our passionate driver-guides not only lead the journey but also bring each destination to life through storytelling, cultural insight, and a deep respect for the land.
They act as kaitiaki (guardians) of the experience, upholding values of manaakitanga (hospitality), care, and environmental responsibility. With every tour, they encourage guests to slow down, connect meaningfully, and honour the places they visit not just pass through them.
Every choice we make as travellers matters. We invite our guests to journey thoughtfully, to tread lightly, respect local communities, and carry the values of care, connection, and kaitiakitanga.
Together, we can help protect the beauty of Aotearoa (New Zealand) for generations to come.
