A 3 hour journey into the heart of Māori Culture... an experience you will never forget! The most award-winning Māori culture attraction in New Zealand... Journey with us to the outskirts of Rotorua, to a Māori village nestled in an ancient forest Voted Top 10 Experience in the World, this is a cultural experience like no other. Delivered with genuine heart and soul, Tamaki Māori Village offers a window in to a truly riveting, spirited way of life. Experience an evening of ceremonial ritual, powerful cultural performance, storytelling & Hangi feasting. Warriors emerge from the forest by canoe to perform the powhiri, an ancient ceremony of welcome that allows visitors safe passage into the village nestled within a native Tawa Forest. As you wander beneath the stunning forest canopy, the pre-European village the village comes alive with sights, sounds & activity of days gone by including haka, poi, tattooing, weaving, carving and arts of warrior training. You will have the opportunity to participate in these activities. Witness the earth being scraped away from the hangi pit to reveal baskets of food cooked beneath the ground on hot stones. Enter the ancestral meeting house and enjoy a powerful cultural performance before dining the traditional hangi buffet feast! Complete cultural package includes Traditional welcoming ceremony Interactive tour in a pre-European village View the hangi meal being lifted Powerful and entertaining cultural performance Feasting on a traditional hangi buffet dinner and NZ desserts Water, tea, coffee, kawakawa tea (Māori native plant) included Special dietary requirements catered for upon request The evening ends with the Poroporoaki (official closing ceremony) before you are returned to your accommodation. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations by the Operator You will not be charged any cancellation fee if the cancellation has been made by the operator. Operators reserve the absolute right to cancel any activity, attraction, product or service as a result of health & safety concerns, weather conditions, insufficient numbers of people on the trips or any other unforeseen event or circumstance. All refunds will occur in the currency the product was sold in. If your credit card uses a different currency, the amount refunded may be different from the original amount paid due to exchange rate fluctuations. The operator is not liable for these fluctuations, or any fees your bank charges for purchases in a foreign currency. Cancellations by you the Customer The availability and costs of cancellations, changes and refunds depend on Operators' own terms and conditions and policies. When you make a booking you agree to be bound by the relevant Operator's terms and policies. If you want to cancel your booking you will need to contact the operator directly (by phone 0800 397 527 or by email at experience.kart@gmail.com) and check with them if you are able to cancel. In general (unless otherwise stated on your booking confirmation) operators require a minimum of 48 hours notice for any refunds to be considered. In general Cancellations made by you, the customer, within 24 hours of departure will receive no refund.
