Tour Description

Our magical wonderland experience starts from Auckland city and you’ll enjoy a two-hour scenic drive South of Auckland into Waikato, with a scenic stop or two for taking picturesque photos of New Zealand's lush countryside.

 

Day 1: Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and Hobbiton Movie Set Tour

 

Discover your moment of magic in the Waitomo Glowworm Caves tour. ​Discover an ancient world 30 million years in the making and marvel at Mother Nature’s light display as you glide silently through the starry wonderland of the Glowworm Grotto. Experience the serene ambiance as you enter this galaxy of tiny living lights. The glowworm (Arachnocampa Luminosa) is unique to New Zealand, making the Waitomo Glowworm Caves an absolute must-do. See thousands of these tiny creatures as they radiate their unmistakable luminescent light in a subterranean world.

 

Experience the enchanting village of Hobbiton Movie Set In the heart of New Zealand, you can step into the lush pastures of the Shire with a guided tour of Hobbiton, as featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Trilogies. See the remarkable detailing that brought Hobbiton™ to life on screen, and visit the places where key scenes were created. Get lost among the hobbit holes and visit the Green Dragon Inn, the mill and the Party Tree. Listen to spell-binding tales of how Hobbiton came to be.

 

​​After returning to Matamata, re-join the luxury coach. The drive from Matamata to Rotorua will take approximately 50 minutes. You are set to relax.

Day 2: Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland and Lake Taupō

 

A short drive approximately 20 minutes south of Rotorua, will bring you to the park, which is considered to be one of New Zealand's most diverse geothermal attractions Experience a land where myth and legend come to life, where the earth boils, mud heals, and steam disappears into the clouds above. Explore spectacular nature at New Zealand's most colourful natural volcanic park. Walks through this unique geothermal area take between 30 and 75 minutes and provide a wide range of amazing photo opportunities at unique features including the world famous Champagne Pool, naturally coloured hot and cold springs,  bubbling mud, steaming ground, expansive vistas, huge volcanic craters and sinter terrace formations. 

 

Marvel at the breath-taking geothermal scenery, stunning waterfalls and World Heritage-listed forest reserves and the largest freshwater lake in Australasia. You will be amazed by the majestic Huka falls- an incredible waterfall that thunders 11m into the Waikato River below and boast the title of being New Zealand's most visited natural attraction.

 

Journey of thousand miles start from single step. With an enriched and heart-warming experience, we head back to Auckland.
