Share special moments and close encounters with wildlife while capturing photos of rare birds, marine mammals and unique island views.  Unforgettable memories and amazing photo opportunities After we finish the incredible Marine world, we head on to the land to continue our experience by stretching the length of the Central Auckland easterly waterfront, the Tamaki Drive cruise to Achilles Point is a hallmark of the 09 region.  


Numerous beaches, sweeping views of Devonport, Rangitoto and other Gulf islands, flash houses to gawk at and plentiful options for a bite to eat (or let’s be realistic, an ice cream stop off) dot its length - Mission Bay, Kohi, St Heliers and more. This revitalised waterfront precinct is brimming with the energy of locals and visitors of all ages. So too green space is abound with parks and reserves liberally spread along its length - Bastion Point and Achilles Point being the two standout options, providing many an Instagram or Facebook opportunity.  Venture a little further and you’ll stumble upon Auckland’s oldest suburb, Parnell Village, is known for its fabulous restaurants, quaint cafes, diverse galleries and shopping districts, and is definitely a top spot to explore whilst in the area.

Tour Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 people are required for this tour to depart.

  • Auckland is a micro-climate that is notoriously changeable. One moment it’s hot and the next minute it’s, well…not! So it’s best to be prepared and bring layers, like a light wind jacket or vest and a warm top. It’s also useful to have a sun hat (with chin strap – you don’t want it blowing away), sunscreen, sunglasses.

  • Please bring warm clothes and a showerproof jacket, a sun hat and sunscreen are also recommended. 

  • Don't forget your camera and binoculars!

  • A small range of snacks and food are available for purchase on board, including water, soft drinks, beer & wine.

  • If you are inclined to sea sickness then please check the weather and medicate yourself several hours before boarding. Sea sickness medication is available from most pharmacies and supermarkets.

  • This tour is not suitable for heavily pregnant women.

  • Children under 5 years are suitable for the trip only if closely supervised by a parent or caregiver.

  • No wheelchair access is available on the boat. Anyone with physical disabilities that require human intervention must be accompanied by their caregivers/support people.

  •  Lastly, please bring flat soled shoes. Anyone wearing heels will be asked to remove them.
